The way the Chromebook platform has evolved over time to include high-end, affordable, and mid-range hardware is completely upended by the new Asus Chromebook Plus CX34. It’s one of the several new Chromebook Plus models that greatly simplify selecting a wonderful laptop running ChromeOS from your local retailer.

With the Asus Chromebook Plus CX34, you won’t have to worry about sluggish performance, a subpar camera, or the lack of amenities like a backlit keyboard. For two weeks, the Asus Chromebook Plus CX34 served as my daily vehicle because of its outstanding performance and compliance with Google’s other standards. With 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage on the i3-1215U we evaluated, it has a speedy Intel Core i3 CPU. It also has a 1080p camera with AI support and 128GB of storage.

The Asus Chromebook Plus CX34’s performance

The Asus Chromebook Plus CX34’s performance is consistent, especially when using it for everyday tasks like reading emails and streaming Netflix. When I tried it in real life, I found it to be rather quick overall. It took me barely a few seconds (if that) to restart the computer or navigate between tabs in Google Chrome. The Intel Core i3-1215U CPU, which features six cores and eight threads with a maximum turbo clock of 4.40 GHz, is to blame for it. The speedier CPUs, such as an Intel Core i5 or above, will still outperform the slower processors in typical Chromebooks.

Not a blank screen here! The piano deck is also strong. It’s chic and simple, but not so much that it stands out and gets much attention. The dark brown keys look good with the white body as well.

The vents are placed in an interesting way, making the design more interesting overall. For the most part, you will notice the three fans of different lengths on the bottom of the laptop if you turn it over. This is cool and stylish, and it might also be useful.

Asus Chromebook Plus CX34 Design and Display

The light level is the first thing I noticed about the Plus CX34’s 1080p screen. Since I’m a monster dressed as a human, I like to work in darker places, so I usually turn up the lighting on my laptop. However, this machine’s screen is very bright even when it’s only 50% lit up. It looks better than the 250 nits that Asus said it was. It could be better for use outside, but that’s not a big deal. You’d be surprised at how beautiful the colors are! During the last episode of Ahsoka, the Night ‘sisters’ red cloaks were very deep and luxurious.

A 1080p camera comes with the Asus Chromebook Plus CX34, which makes me very happy. No matter which Chromebook Plus you get, it will have a 1080p camera. I need help to work from home or with a mixed team using a 720p screen. The picture and video quality are pretty good; the colors are true, and I didn’t look washed out or overexposed. Since I often work from home, I need a webcam to record clear videos, especially when I need to make a work call.

The music, on the other hand, made me want more. It works well for watching videos on YouTube or Netflix series, but it’s just passable when it comes to listening to music with many highs and mids. When I raised the level up to fifty percent, I could hear most of it.

Still, I need a very high standard for laptop audio. I’m happy to hear the program I’m viewing without turning up the volume to the maximum. For this, the Asus Chromebook Plus CX34 is adequate.

At a fair price, the Asus Chromebook Plus CX34 provides dependable performance, a 1080p webcam, and an attractive appearance. How much more is there to ask for?
